ELECTRONIC MODEL OF THE BACHELOR STUDENT’S PORTFOLIO OF PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY
Abstracts

Introduction. The article justifies the relevance of creating an electronic model of a bachelor student's portfolio based on constant changes in the information society. Such processes require reforming the education system, leading to the emergence of new paradigms and the formation of flexible tools to support the educational process.

Materials and methods. The provisions of the e-model of student’s portfolio are based on the lifelong education paradigm of modern society, associated with economic changes in the labor market. In addition, the normative documents on development strategies of the Russian Federation are focused on the technology education, due to its mass character, on the one hand. And the individualization of education, associated with the self-educating learning environment, on the other hand, allows us to speak about the widespread introduction of automation software in the educational process. Focusing on the existing technological solutions supplied by business companies, and the requirements of state standards in education to the competence approach, we‘ve integrated the approaches in the formation of the e-model of student’s portfolio.

Results. The article describes the electronic model of a student’s portfolio of a pedagogical university, implemented as an online service. The model represents three levels of students' activities: the level of educational activities and as the results - the formation of competencies, the second level of personal achievement and the third level - the assessment of employers.

Discussion. The study shows that the e-model portfolio is efficient when it is developed as an online service and collects the student’s education data and all achievement during all his learning process.

Conclusion. The presented electronic model of the portfolio allows the student of future bachelor's and master's degrees and graduate students to accumulate their achievements in educational and extracurricular activities, to determine the level of formation of competencies, to the graduate to self-present themselves, giving employers complete information about themselves.

Highlights

Due to constant economic changes in the labor market, a future university graduate must be competitive when looking for a job. In this case, a tool is needed that allows the employer to accumulate and self-present all his achievements, incl. letters of recommendation and reviews of previous work, field of activity, range of tasks to be solved. Such a tool can be a portfolio.

The e-model of student's portfolio should consist of an integrated assessment of his or her achievements: achievements in the educational process (grades in subjects, including the level of competencies’ formation), achievements in professional activity (e.g, passing training, working experience), achievements in extracurricular activities (scientific research work, sports events, etc.)

The student’s e-model of the portfolio must meet the basic requirements for modern educational technologies and the new educational lifelong education paradigm: based on a scientific approach to the formation of information on student’s educational achievements, provide complete information in accordance with the requirements of the educational standard, have the flexibility to configure, be accessible from various devices (web interface).
